India’s largest motor show, the Auto Expo will be held from February 9-14, 2018. It may be a month before all the auto expo gala begins but the excitement can be seen with the anticipation of all the upcoming cars that will be launched this year.
Tata Motors has launched a few fantastic cars in the recent past like Tiago, Hexa, and Nexan, Tata motors is slowly capturing the market back. Many new cars have been lined up from the Tata Motors to showcase a slew of cars at Hall No.14 at the upcoming Auto Expo 2018.
The Q501 is based on the Land Rover Freelander 2 platform, will take shape as the new flagship for Tata that will rival new SUVs. According to reports, the new SUV from the manufacturer will also be exported from 2019. It will in a 5 seater as well as 7 seater version. The advantage of a Land Rover derived platform means these SUVs will have sufficient off-road credibility too.
Tata’s premium hatchback will be launched this year as the car codenamed the X451 inches closer to its production form. This will be an important launch for Tata Motors for a number of reasons. It is the first product based on Tata’s new Advanced Modular platform, which is slated to underpin all Tata small cars in the future and along with this it will also the first time that Tata Motors will showcase a product wearing its Impact 2.0 design language.
Tata motors could equip the Tiago with the 1.2 litre, 3 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine from the Nexon. With the hatchback’s compact dimension it is bound to deliver drool-worthy performance. The three-pot motor delivers 110Ps of power and 170Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox in the Nexon. Tiago is expected to be priced competitively and it could be some development regarding its launch at the big-ticket event.
Tata Hexa 4*4
Introduction of 4*4 At variant to the big Tata will certainly add weight to its contention in the SUV space and make it relevant to the wide variety of buyers. In terms of features, space, power, looks Hexa matches or overshadows the XUV 500 in many department.
Tata Tigor Electric
Tata Motors has already delivered 250 units of the Tigor Electric to state rum EESL. It is expected that the manufacturer will display it’s first mass-market EV at the 2018 Auto Expo India to give a gist of what capabilities it holds to the public and media. The Tigor produces a peak power of 40ps and further details will be hopefully disclosed at the Auto Expo.
Tata has claimed that Tiago EV will accelerate from 0-100kph in about 11seconds in sport mode and is capable of a top speed of 135 kph. The all variant electric of Tiago uses an 85 kw motor that churns out 200Nm of torque. The Tiago EV is expected to be showcased in Auto Expo.
