The Compact Utility Vehicle of India with a bold look, modifiable features, and a powerful engine is going to arrive soon on the roads of the city. It is assumed that Ford Freestyle, making its global debut in the second quarter of 2018 is going to launch its modified, updated product with all new amusing features in India in April 2018, while the bookings for the car may start from April 7.The launch of Freestyle will eventually strengthen Ford’s fun to drive credentials and enables them to successfully accomplish their commitment to fulfill the demands of their consumers.
A crossover version of Figo hatchback, Freestyle is coming up with four variants, namely Trend, Ambiente, Titanium, and Titanium+. These variants are further divided into eight sections based on diesel and petrol engine options. The rugged looks, commanding stance and sweeping straight lines, from front to rear with three- dimensional mesh, Ford Freestyle is likely to go against other reputed and well-known models like Volkswagen Cross Polo, Hyundai i20 Active and many others.

With an estimated price of 5.5 lakh, the vehicle comprises blacked out wing mirrors with roof-rails and bumper mounted fog lamps. Additionally, with a 6.5-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment system, the system will support Android Auto, with Ford’s SYNC3 connectivity system. The vehicle gets stripes, running along the doors for sportiness along with all-around cladding, giving it a crossover SUV looks, having enough space for three in the second row.
In respect to safety, there will be ABS as standard fitment as well as dual airbags in the front. Moreover, there will be all new 1.2-litre Dragon series petrol engine, estimated to generate around 90bhp of power. In terms of diesel variant, there will be three-cylinder 1.5-litre Dragon engine, estimated to generate around 100bhp of power. Amusingly, both the engines are obtainable with manual transmission of five-speed.
Based on company’s popular Figo hatchback, the company has made its product all new with a host of mechanical and cosmetic updates. The car measures length of 3954 mm, 1737 mm width and 1570 mm height with a wheelbase of 2490 mm and boot space of 257 litre. There are a lot of other features which may include 3 point seatbelts, rear parking sensors, two 12V power charger, height adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, keyless entry and most importantly Active Rollover Prevention or popularly known as ARP system which is offered in Titanium and Titanium+ variant.
