With the recent launch of the Hyundai Elite i20 at the Auto Expo 2018 in petrol as well as diesel variants, Hyundai is ready to launch the other versions starting with the CVT variant in May. Introducing the new unit on the 1.2-litre petrol after the automatic gearbox in 2016 will make it more feasible and economical.
As Hyundai launched the facelift of the i20 at the Auto Expo, starting prices being Rs 5.34 lakh, even though it is available in both petrol and diesel powertrains with a five-speed manual and a six-speed manual respectively, it is available only with the manual transmission. However, to salvage this situation, Hyundai will be launching the variant i20 with the automatic gearbox, tentatively in May. It is also been revealed that the new Hyundai Elite i20 facelift will be receiving a new version of the CVT of the five-speed unit, an upgrade from the 2016 four-speed automatic that introduced in 2016.
