The Chinese automaker SAIC is all set to launch its introductory manufacturing facility in India by the name “MG motors” and people might witness MG cars on Indian roads by 2019.
HISTORY OF “SAIC” IN INDIA
Although this substantial Chinese automaker SAIC is claimed to mark its entry into Indian market through the production of the cars under the brand name “MG”, the Chinese automaker SAIC has already been operating in an Indian market in the merger with “General motors” until recently with GM having announced its exit from the Indian market, SAIC is all set to start anew.
SAIC latterly asserted about its endeavor to launch its manufacturing facility in India and is looking forward to outstretch its capacity to 80,000 units per annum. MG motors were acquired by Chinese automakers 10 years ago and are now looking forward to instigate their entry into an Indian market through this British car marquee.
SPECULATIONS ON IMMINENT MODELS BY “MG Motors”
The first model under the brand name “MG” could be GS SUV which is not exactly an off-roader or to be more precise we can name it as a soft-roader with dimensions 4,500mm in length, 1,855mm in width and 1,665mm in height. “MG” SUVs are already prevalent in the U.K market and are available in different variants such as Explore, Excite and Exclusive. In U.K there are two segments of hatchback and SUV MG3 hatchback and MG GS small SUV there are suppositions on whether both segments will be launched in an India Debut.
