Auto- Expo has gradually transformed into a grand biennale and has become an imperative event for the automotive industry of India. After the initiation in 1986, Auto Expo has gradually risen up to become the Asia’s largest and the world’s second largest motor show. This is the perfect platform for the two-wheelers, four-wheelers and even for the commercial vehicles to unveil themselves in front of the world.
Skipping of The Giant Auto Manufacturers From Auto-Expo
We are witnessing a variation in the trend of the auto expo in India. Auto-expo is known as the throb of the automotive industry, but contrary to this we are observing that some auto manufacturers are opting to back off from this great event. Previously in 2016, seven companies skipped the Auto Expo. In 2018, it is believed that 32 companies will be backing off from the Auto Expo. The number has even crossed the quadrupled mark in comparison to 2016 in which only 7 companies decided to opt out.
Big Names On The Auto Expo Skip List
It is disheartening news for the car lovers. The giants of the automobile industry such as the Bajaj Auto, Jaguar Land Rover, Harley Davidson, Ford, Ashok Leyland, Nissan, and the last name is the most flabbergasting name on the list. The Volkswagen group which includes Porsche, Skoda, Audi, and Lamborghini will not be seen in the Auto expo 2018 that is going to take place in the month of February.
Reasons Behind Backing Off From Auto Expo
Although there can be several reasons behind choosing to skip the Auto Expo 2018, the most important reasons behind such endeavor are ROI (Return on Investment) and effectiveness of participation. The investments by the company are expected to be humongous and they fear that with such unwarranted high costs along with the venue of the week-long event, the ROI will be minimal.
We can speculate a minimum loss of 320 Cr. due to these endeavors.
