Gazing at luxurious cars is always so fascinating but have you ever wondered the story behind the sigil of these renowned luxury cars? We all are aware with the contour of these famous sigils such as the rings in AUDI, the horse in FERRARI but not with the stories behind these sigils. Let us glance at the stories behind some famous sigils.
1.AUDI– The four rings in “AUDI” stand for four different companies as AUDI was an amalgamation of multiple companies into a single business during 20thcentury. Each ring stands for a company (AUDI, DKW, Horch, and Wanderer).
2.TOYOTA– There have been many speculations on the meaning of the sigil of “TOYOTA” like some call it the weird cowboy hat but in actual the three ellipses symbolize the unification of the heart of the customers and the heart of the Toyota products. The outermost ellipse symbolizes that Toyota is embraced by the world.
3.BMW– There is a widespread satirical explanation behind the sigil of BMW that blue and white roundel represents a pitch white propellers in contrast to the blue sky in a nod to Bravarian Motor Works roots in constructing aircraft engines in the early 20th century, but the truth is not so stirring because in actual the blue and the white rounded is an imitation of the Bavarian flag.
4.MERCEDES BENZ– The iconic three-pointed stars in “MERCEDES BENZ” are pointing out in the three directions- Sea, Air and Land and are a paragon of MERCEDES dominance in all the three areas.
5.FERRARI– Enzo Ferrari (Italian racecar driver) painted a portrayal of prancing horses on his vehicles to pay homage to Francesco Barraca (world war1 hero and fighter pilot). Enzo subsequently invented Scuderia Ferrari racing team in 1929 and resorted to keep this horse sigil on his cars, adding bright yellow to the background for his home city of Modena.
6.Porsche– Porsche logo combines elements from two coats of arms: the Free State of Württemberg in western Germany, and its former capital, Stuttgart.
