Ever thought of hydrogen car? Yes, Hyundai’s Hydrogen fuel cell is all set to be launched. This year, the automaker has decided to unveil its new Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV). Details of this giant is not yet been released but surely it draws heavily from the FE Fuel Cell Concept which was depicted at the Geneva motor show held last year. This concept had a range of 497 miles, with a power density 30 percent higher than that of Hyundai’s previous FCEV, the ix35 Fuel Cell.
There is a technological advancement over the ix35 Fuel Cell in this version. It’s likely to be a semi-autonomous system which will be much similar to the Volkswagen Group’s Traffic Jam Assist; in which the car controls its acceleration, braking and steering below certain speeds in certain environments.
This upcoming giant will be Hyundai’s first in the testing of fully autonomous systems. This came into notice when an announcement was made for a fully autonomous car which will be revealed in 2021.
Aurora will be the helping hand for Hyundai in bringing both the brands’ technologies to market as quickly and safely as possible, with Level 4 autonomy targeted.
It’ll be fun, watching how other rivalries in SUV lead will react and respond!
