Customary maintenance and repairs of your vehicle can be a considerably costlier expense. But if you have any bad driving habits, it may lead to unavoidable repairs and permanent car damages. For every household, their vehicle is one of the most expensive products they own and therefore surely would want to protect it from any harm that they knowingly or unknowingly cause to the vehicle. So here are a few things that people often repeat while driving which causes impairment of cars.
Immediate Acceleration or Brake
When one hits on the accelerator when the light turns green wastes gas and puts pressure on the vehicle and stopping abruptly will accelerate the wear on your brakes. The smoother the drive is the more longer will everything going to last. Letting your car coast to a stop is one way to improve your gas mileage.
Neglecting warning signs
If the car is giving you any warning signals then one should never ignore them. It is very important to know the cause of any sound or sign that your car is providing and then take some action against it. Not paying attention for once due to ignorance can result in catastrophic effects.

Carrying too many items
Adding too much weight in the car is also not a good idea, it makes your car work too hard. Only transport the necessities and do not burden the car with a load of weight. Every pound of extra weight impacts the fuel economy so one must not exceed the weight limit that a car can carry.
Driving on low fuel
Most car manufacturers recommend keeping the fuel tank at least a quarter full. It is never advised to wait until the last minute to fill up again. This is because it can sometimes cause clogged lines, dirty filter and engine trouble. However, maintaining a full tank keeps the tank and fuel pump cool.
Resting hand on shifter
In a manual transmission, it is often seen the habit of resting the hand on the shifter while driving. It may add a cool feeling as we have seen in the movie but added weight on the shifter puts pressure on the transmissions bushings and synchronizers.
Not deploying the parking brake
Neglecting to use the parking brake pressures the entire weight of your vehicle to rest on the parking pawl, which is one little piece of metal within the transmission. Doing this could cause the parking pawl to eventually worn out and brake, making ‘P’ on your shifter useless.

Hastening when the Engine’s cold
It is always a good idea to keep the engine idle for a minute or two after a cold start. This helps it warm up and gives the oil some time to circulate. However one must resist the urge to rev the engine when it’s cold. Your engine will sound better and rev more smoothly once it is all warmed up. So don’t hasten unless you are really late!

Riding the clutch
Pressing the clutch for long, waiting for the light to turn green damages the pressure plate, release bearing and release arm. And let’s face it, new clutches don’t come cheap so don’t damage it unknowingly.
Suddenly shifting from reverse to drive
This might not seem bad in the moment, but over time sudden direction changes like this can really damage your drivetrain. Instead, come to a complete stop before switching. It only adds a second of time and will save you from future engine, transmission or axle damage.
