Volvo India today launched the much awaited XC60 premium SUV in the country priced at 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom)
This year, the car was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and the production began in April in Sweden. This astonishing car is going to launch today, in India. As per the Swedish car manufacturer the SUV will be launched in the fully-loaded ‘Inscription’ trim with an array of technical and safety goodies on offer. This next gen or precisely the second generation Volvo XC60 is built on the company’s latest Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, which also underpins the Volvo XC90. It is expected to be assembled in the company’s hub in Bengaluru.
The 2017 Volvo XC60 borrows its awesomely styling cues from its elder sibling, XC90. The exterior design of the car features a stylish Thor’s Hammer-like headlamps integrated with LEDs adding a holy wonderful look but that’s not all it also has a sporty front bumper and the company’s signature multi-slat front grille, which makes the front fascia of the car look aggressive and attractive. The side profile of the car is perfectly designed with creases and curves aesthetically placed. The car runs on the sporty alloy wheels, while the rear profile of the car receives new LED tail-lights, which is vertically stacked.
Now if you are shocked by the exteriors of the car then one can only imagine what will happen when the interiors of the car are presented.
The interior of the car looks exceptionally classy with light colour shades and a fit and finish cabin. The seats add to the premiumness of the cabin with good quality leather upholstery. Moreover, the dashboard equips a 9.0-inch touch screen infotainment system that uses the latest interface with Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility. The car gets three driver-assistance features – Steer Assist, Oncoming Lane Mitigation and Blind Spot Information systems.
Thus it can be concluded that this car is a complete package of terrific exteriors and stunning interiors Globally, the new Volvo XC60 is expected to be offered in two petrol variants, two diesel variants and one plug-in hybrid option as well. The diesel versions will include a D4 engine and a D5 engine. Among which, the top-end trim of 2.0-litre D5 engine is most likely to be considered for India, which produces a maximum power output of 231 bhp. Although it is always seen awesome things accompanies awesomely high prices but according to me the cost given for such a spectacularly terrific car is quite reasonable.
The starting price of the Volvo XC60 is expected to be at Rs. 55 lakh (ex-showroom) and will continue to rival the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q5, BMW X3 and the Jaguar F-Pace.
