The Indian automobile sector is one if the most vibrant industry. And Maruti Suzuki is one of the leading automobile company. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (formerly Maruti Udyog Ltd) is India’s largest passenger car company accounting for over 50 percent of the domestic car market. The company offers full range of cars from entry level Maruti Alto to stylish hatchback Ritz A-star Swift Wagon R Estillo and sedans DZire SX4 and Sports Utility vehicle Grand Vitara. In order to capture a huge share, it is planning to launch the all-new SUV in the year 2019 which will help in the further growth of the brand. In today’s world where the demand for midsize SUV is increasing at an intensified rate, the launch will strengthen the automaker’s position in the highly competitive and highly-in-demand SUV segment.Upon arrival, the new midsize SUV will be positioned above the Vitara Brezza in the Maruti Suzuki cars to get six-speed gearbox this year portfolio.
It is claimed that the new model of Maruti Suzuki SUV will compete with the Creta, which is currently leading the SUV market. The SUV is already on sale in the European market and is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options.
The petrol variant of the Vitara is likely to use the 1.4-litre BoosterJet turbocharged petrol engine that outputs 140 Bhp and 230 Nm. With these outputs, the vehicle will be a class leader in the compact SUV segment. The diesel engine will be the 1.6-litre Fiat Multijet unit, again turbocharged and with outputs of 120 Bhp and 320 Nm.The new SUV will be a five-seater with airbags and ABS offered as standard
Maruti Suzuki India’s managing director Kenichi Ayukawa has revealed that the company would modify some things in the production version of the Future S concept. Also, some features would be added compared to the concept model.This model will compete with the rival like Mahindra KUV100 NXT that sells around 2,500 units per month.
The question that would have strike everyone’s mind was about the price of the car. So expect prices of the SUV to start between Rs. 9-10 lakhs. A large amount of localization is likely for the new vehicle to keep pricing competitive. The launch is expected to be the year 2019 but Maruti is yet to give a clear indication of the exact launch timeline of the new SUV.
