Volkswagen India launches its third generation Sedan Volkswagen Passat GTE on October 10 before this Diwali. The premium sedan will have a grand homecoming after three years of exile from the Indian market.
It will be produced at the company’s Aurangabad plant and is based on VW’ s MQB (i.e modular transverse mix) platform. The New Passat Comfort line is priced at Rs 29.99 lakh and Highline trim at Rs 32.99 lakh (Ex-Delhi/Mumbai).
The Passat has a revolutionary design change in comparison to its previous model. The latest model has received a sleeker structure and is endowed with a horizontally louvred grille. The extended spacious cabin and boot space add a whole new dimension to the model.
It has an extended wheelbase of 80 mm and measures 13mm shorter than its previous model. Like all premium sedans, it will have stylish LED lights, Airbags and ABS safety features.
The car is powered by a GTE plug-in diesel engine hybrid which comes with a 2.0 liter TDI motor mated to a 6-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The engine provides a hefty output of 177 PS and 350 Nm torque. Passat qualifies all the EU 6 emission norms present in India.
The German beauty also comes loaded with a 12.3-inch digital display,two-zone climate control feature, multiple driving modes, smartphone integration and classy 17-inch alloy wheel fitments.
